As they wear off, petrochemical sunscreens accumulate in the environment, leaving a toxic legacy. Some marine reserves ban petrochemical sunscreens due to their negative effects on marine ecosystems. Recent research into ocean reef ecosystems suggests that ingredients in conventional sunscreen are having adverse effects on the reef. Our zinc is REEF SAFE.

Thanks to the local beeswax this zinc will stick to your face for longer, while beading off water. As long as the zinc is visible you are fully shielded and it’s easy to know if you need to reapply.

Our zinc nourishes your skin while shielding you from harmful rays. Our oils are naturally moisturising and are high in antioxidants, good for repairing damaged skin. Zinc oxide has been used for skin health since days of the Greeks; today most baby nappy ointments use Zinc oxide, a tribute to its healing qualities on sensitive skin. Zinc oxide is also great for acne.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST IN THE SURF?
Thanks to the ultra sticky local beeswax this stuff will last for hours in the surf. The zinc oxide in the mix provides a physical shield for your skin from the sun, so if you can see the zinc- it is working for you! We recommend you reapply every 4 hours.
